Shell cordovan (or cordovan) is a rare, world-famous leather made of a specific layer of hide - "cordovan". The cordovan layer exists only in equine hides and has its maximum thickness on the rump area. One horse hide yields only two small oval pieces of cordovan - two shells. Using the centuries-old method of pure vegetable tannage and hand finishing, the tanning process takes a full six months to complete. The outcome is one of the world’s finest leathers and one that is highly coveted for its unmatched durability and wonderful patina. Ghost Forest Camo edition coming out Friday April 8th at 08:00am PT.  The Ghost Camo Camouflage finish is a white wax finish that will wear and patina over time exposing more and more of the beautiful color beneath. You can buff with a cloth to remove some of the finish to get just the right look you want to start with.

Hey, what's up everyone!  Introducing The Proper Slip in Harvest leather, limited run. I posted about it a week ago on Instagram, but want to write more about it on here. We make the slip from the thickest leather we have, Harvest. This is a chrome-tanned leather and has some beautiful pull-up action. After a few days, weeks, and months of use, it will have a story to tell from its patina! This Proper Slip is a perfect fit for the Benchmade Proper, but can also fit a Benchmade Bugout Mini as shown. Can come with an optional Pen Loop to carry your preferred EDC pen.
